Afrikan Mental Liberation Films evolved out of the 30 hour radio special Dr Kwaku used to host on KPFK. When Makeda Dread Cheatham, founder of the World Beat Center asked him to come to San Diego to discuss some of the films he would screen, he welcomed the invitation. These are photos from last year’s Film Festival. The next one is scheduled for Black History Month 2011. Here are some still photos from when it was held at Compton College, in Compton, CA.
